Slowpitch Softball

Slowpitch softball is the popular sport variation in the baseball and softball family. This variation of fastpitch softball can be played by anyone. The ball must be thrown in a high arc towards the batter, giving him enough time to hit the ball.

Slowpitch is gaining more and more importance and has now established itself as a broad sport for baseball and softball. Slowpitch is often played in tournament form as a one-day event. In addition, clubs hold their own leagues in which games are played throughout the spring. The annual season ends with the Austrian Coed Slowpitch-Softball Championships held in the fall, where all baseball and softball clubs can compete with mixed teams.

In 2016, Wiener Neustadt was the venue for the Coed Slowpitch European Cup. 14 teams from all over Europe participated in the Europe-wide showdown at the Ducksfield. As always, the Diving Ducks were an excellent host and showed once again that we can host great tournaments in Austria.

The ABF also sends a COED Slowpitch National Team to European Championships. These take place every two years.
